What a zodiac necklace is (and isn't)

A zodiac necklace (sometimes called a zodiac sign necklace, star sign necklace or zodiac pendant necklace) marks one of the 12 sun signs. Designs usually lean on a symbol, an animal or a myth tied to that sign: a lion for Leo, a crab for Cancer, scales for Libra, and so on. The meaning is personal and symbolic. It is a piece of fashion jewelry that says "this is my sign" or "I chose this for your birthday," not a scientific claim about personality.

A constellation necklace is different. Those designs map the actual star pattern of a constellation — often as dots and lines — or a custom star map of a night sky. How to choose by sign

Start with her birthday. Her sun sign is the sign the sun was in on that day:

Gold-plated or white gold-plated?

MorrowLand necklaces are fashion jewelry on a copper base:

• Gold-tone = gold-plated copper.
• Silver-tone = white gold-plated copper (a silver-tone finish). "White gold-plated" names the light, silver-looking plating. The piece is plated copper fashion jewelry; that silver-tone finish describes appearance only, and the necklace is not karat gold.
